We are seeking a candidate to join a great team in Salisbury as a Streetscene Operative where you will assist with the cleansing of the highways and footpaths throughout the City and also within the parks and open spaces.
As the Streetscene Operative, you will work as part of a team to ensure that Salisbury City is a clean and attractive environment and remove any fly posting around the city, and Graffiti.
In your role as the Streetscene Operative, you will be responsible for:
- Collection and clearance of litter, leaves, and other waste in designated areas.
- Emptying litter and recycling bins.
- Weed growth removal with the use of hand tools.
- Hand sweeping of pavements and footpaths.
- Maintain and operate a street barrow and glutton (an industrial outdoor vacuum cleaner).
- Drive a highways sweeping vehicle in accordance with full guidelines for cleansing and leaf clearance.
- Assistance with fly-tipping investigations ie identifying the origin of waste where possible and providing relevant photographic evidence to officers. Remove or arrange the removal of waste.
- Operate leaf blower equipment to aid with sweeper clearance.
- Operate the pressure steam washer for cleansing of hard surface areas, street and park furniture, and other assets.
- Deployment and installation of the Speed Indicator Devices (SID) across the Parish.
- Willing to undertake all cleansing operations as directed by line management.
- Undertake all duties with due regard and compliance with H&S legislation and risk assessments.
- Any other duties commensurate with the role.
