As the Purchasing Supervisor, you will be mentoring the Purchasing administrator to support their role and co-ordinating the daily activities within the procurement office whilst ensuring completion of deadlines. We would really like to speak to you and tell you more about the Purchasing Supervisor role if you have some experience of working in a supervisory role or be ready to take on a more senior role within procurement. Some relevant purchasing based experience with raw materials would be ideal too.  

Your main duties as the Purchasing Supervisor will also include:

  • Control stock levels in line with business minimum stock levels.

  • Identify and manage new supplier opportunities.

  • Support new product introduction and resource activity.

  • Review current and new processes for improvements or mapping.

  • Co-ordinate supplier audits and regular reviews.

  • Assist with ongoing supplier development and relationship management.

Working closely with the Purchasing Administrator and reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you’ll be working to maintain and create good working relationships with your suppliers to:

  • Ensure stocks are purchased in a timely manner.

  • Manage price increases to minimise impact.

  • Reduce supplier base for non-critical products.

  • Forecast suppliers spending and identify any action required.

  • Meet with suppliers where necessary to discuss QCD performance.
