Production Operative

Production Operative - Salisbury - Full Time, 39 Hours per Week 

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Salisbury for a reliable and detail-oriented Production Operative to join their busy production team. As a Production Operative, you will play a key role in the accurate assembly and testing of products, working to production schedules and maintaining the high standards the business is known for. Whether you are an experienced operative or someone looking to build a career in manufacturing, we would love to hear from you.

Working as part of the production team and reporting to the Production Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Accurately assembling products ready for use in sub-assemblies or for stock, working within specified time frames and in line with the production and warehouse schedule

  • Testing all produced parts as required by assembly procedures

  • Identifying and rejecting any faulty parts in line with the reject procedure

  • Informing the Production Supervisor of any picking discrepancies

  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe work area to ensure parts are not lost or damaged

  • Completing all required paperwork accurately, including store issue information, quality control sheets, reject forms and build time stamps

  • Accurately updating production spreadsheets including the Production & Warehouse Schedule and the Reject Register

  • Reducing reject rates by re-working parts where possible and handling all products with care

  • Advising management of any unsafe working practices or faulty equipment

  • Undertaking other related duties as reasonably requested by the team

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or assembly environment is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided

  • A strong eye for detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy

  • Ability to follow written assembly instructions and procedures

  • Good numeracy and literacy skills for accurate completion of paperwork and schedules

  • A reliable, punctual and conscientious approach to work

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors

  • A positive attitude and willingness to take on a variety of tasks
