Our client based in Kent is requiring an experienced Operations Director to join their Senior Management Team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Operations Director will support the delivery of person-centred services across all services provided by the company. You will be working closely with the Heads of Services and the Executive Team to develop and implement both support and care services

You will be accountable for supporting the systems, delivery and assurance needed to implement, monitor and report on quality, safety, regulatory standards and compliance. 

Working closely with all operational managers to assess risk, this role will provide effective and visible leadership on the development and implementation of the strategic plan, supporting good governance and helping to ensure continuous improvement across the organisation

Key responsibilities as an Operations Director will include:

  • To act as the Nominated Individual and be accountable for Care Quality Commission regulated services across the organisation and ensure all services are safe and fully compliant with relevant legal, regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Act as the Safeguarding Lead ensuring that all protocols are adhered to in line with legislation, organisational policy and local authority policies and procedures
  • Keep abreast of national and local initiatives relating to health & social care, including legislation and changes in the commissioning climate
  • Together with the Operational Leads, keep the design and configuration of services under regular review and propose changes as required to reflect gaps in service provision or changes in the commissioning environment.
  • Participate in the preparation of tenders and grants and other business development plans as required
  • Work with the Finance Director and Operational Leads to ensure the financial stability and viability of all service delivery and new developments. Provide support and guidance to the Operational Leads in the regular review and monitoring of service budgets. Ensure that effective financial reporting systems are in place for each service and ensure that Service Managers have autonomy and responsibility for their service budgets
  • Work in close conjunction with the Executive Team in the development of an organisational culture driven by effective internal and external relationships that serve to achieve the organisation's strategic aims
  • Actively promote the organisation's profile externally
  • Participate in relevant forums with key stakeholders and build transparent and trusting relationships with commissioners, funding authorities, clinical commissioning groups and all key partner agencies
  • Adhere to safeguarding rules and regulations, respecting the company’s duty to protect its service users and staff in equal measure
  • Always monitor and maintain a safe working environment and working practices, reporting any health and safety issues or risks to the companies Health and Safety point of contact

 

To be considered for the role of Operations Director you will require the following skills:

  • Exemplarily leadership that develops high performing teams through a coaching and collaborative approach
  • Significant experience of lead responsibility for an operations function in the social care sector (over 5 years) involving people with learning disabilities.
  • Qualifications: QCF Level 5 – Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Extensive safeguarding experience and knowledge
  • Experience of collaborating with local Authorities, Commissioners and families
  • Understanding of the requirements of CQC and OFSTED
  • Experience of supporting TUPE and/or merger of services
  • Can travel to locations not easily accessible by public transport across Surrey, Sussex and South London
