About the Role:
As the Machine Shop Supervisor, you will lead a team of skilled professionals in the modern machine shop. With relevant experience of programming and operating CNC machines, you'll bring a wealth of expertise to the role. Your strong understanding of tolerances and methodical problem-solving abilities will be invaluable in ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency are maintained throughout operations.
Your role will include:
- Create accurate quotations for work and ensure alignment with actual costs.
- Develop work schedules for each machine and organize manpower accordingly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any operator issues.
- Coordinate with Quality to optimise product quality through inspection processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering to determine the best machining methods and finishes for products.
- Fabricate tooling and fixtures as needed.
- Program and operate CNC machines as required.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the machine shop.
- Assist in machining for prototyping and development purposes.
- Source and negotiate the best prices for raw materials and necessary tools
- Arrange and manage servicing for CNC machines and equipment, including scheduling preventative maintenance.
