Working for a grower based West of Salisbury you will be working in the harvesting team in the greenhouse area supporting the final cutting and packing of flower products as a Glasshouse Operative.
Working hours are 8-4.30 Monday to Friday and your hourly pay rate will be £12.50 per hour - rising to £13.75 once fully trained. You will have access to a modern canteen, be working in a clean, state of the art working environment and have your workwear provided!
Key Responsibilities as the Glasshouse Operative will include:
- Assisting with the packing and preparation of plants for transportation to customers, ensuring they are properly labeled and packaged for safe delivery.
- Conducting regular checks of stock levels and communicating with management to replenish inventory as needed.
- Carry out general cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure a safe and organised working environment.
- Following health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Undertake essential tasks including de-leafing, pruning, and other maintenance activities to ensure optimal plant health and growth
- Support the harvesting process to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Assist in quality control processes, helping to monitor and maintain high standards
Previous experience working with plants in a nursery or garden centre setting would be really useful in this role as Glasshouse Operative but not essential as full training will be given. We'd just need you to have:
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- A willingness to learn and grow within the company.
