We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to lead this Salisbury finance team and oversee all accounting and financial operations. This is a pivotal role that combines team leadership with technical expertise, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial guidance across the business.
Reporting to senior management, as the Finance Manager, you'll supervise a team of 4 and take ownership of the day-to-day financial processes, from ledger management to final accounts preparation. Key Responsibilities as the Finance Manager include:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals
- Ensure all ledger processing and reconciliations meet established deadlines
- Create and support a collaborative and high-performing team culture
- Manage purchase ledger, sales ledger, applications ledger and nominal ledger
- Oversee payroll processing and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) administration
- Prepare and submit PAYE, CIS returns, CT61 and R185 forms
- Maintain and enhance financial systems including Sage 200, Sage 50 Payroll, and Pegasus CIS
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support budget development, forecasting, and cash flow projections
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure audit readiness
- Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, laws, and accounting standards
We’d ideally like you to have:
- AAT or equivalent professional accounting qualification
- Proven experience in a supervisory finance role
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 200 and Sage 50 Payroll (or similar systems)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience with PAYE, CIS, and relevant tax submissions
