Are you looking for a role that offers training and development of PCB design skills using industry leading Mentor Graphics tools? In your new role as CAD Technician, you will be working as part of a highly skilled and talented team of engineers to gain technical knowledge and experience and will develop an understanding of PCB fabrication and processes.

You’ll be maintaining PCB designs using PCB CAD software and creating and maintaining PCB component libraries within the PCB CAD and Parts Database.

As the CAD Technician you'll also:

  • Raise and administrate engineering change requests
  • Generate PCB assembly process documentation and instructions
  • Prepare PCB and manufacturing data and ensure it is of the required standard to transfer smoothly to fabricators and suppliers

We really like the new CAD Technician to have experience of PCB Layout and an understanding of electronic components but that’s not essential. You will need a solid working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, be able to read, analyse and interpret common scientific and technical data and of writing clear and concise technical documentation.

We're also looking for candidates with an Engineering based HNC or HND level or relevant work experience and desirable, but not essential, as training could be provided to the right candidate would be:

  • Experience with EDA software (Mentor Graphics, Altium, KiCad, Cadence etc)
  • Experience of MCAD systems, 2D and 3D
  • Experience working with PLM systems
