Assembly Technician

Are you a skilled Assembly Technician looking for your next opportunity?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Assembly Technician to join their close-knit production team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and meticulous technician to work on precision mechanical components in a stable, permanent role within a specialist sector.

As the Assembly Technician you will be working as part of a small manufacturing team, assembling and testing a range of mechanical components and sub-assemblies from technical drawings and build instructions. The ability to work unsupervised, to a consistently high standard, is essential. This is a hands-on, skilled position where precision and reliability are everything.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assembling small, medium and large mechanical components from engineering drawings and build instructions

  • Testing part-assembled and finished products against defined test specifications

  • Inspecting parts and identifying defects before and during the manufacturing process

  • Setting up and operating manufacturing equipment in line with instructions

  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out basic part repairs where necessary

  • Ensuring consistent build quality and helping to meet production timelines

What We're Looking For

  • Relevant mechanical assembly experience at a skilled level

  • Confident reading and working from technical drawings and build instructions without supervision

  • Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to repair basic components

  • Understanding of Works Orders and the Picking process in a manufacturing environment

  • Excellent manual dexterity, consistency, and attention to detail

  • Ability to test sub-assemblies and finished products to specific test procedures

  • Recognised apprenticeship or relevant BTEC (or equivalent) and basic electrical experience would also be great to have but not essential.

If you have the experience and skills outlined above, we'd love to hear from you. Please apply here with your up-to-date CV and one of our consultants will be in touch to discuss the role and the business in more detail.

Please note: our client has asked us to manage this recruitment process on a confidential basis. Full details of the employer will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
