Accounts Assistant

We are supporting the recruitment of a new Accounts Assistant to join a growing finance team at this established Salisbury business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail who is looking to build on their existing experience. As the Accounts Assistant, you'll provide support to the accounts department, assisting across the sales ledger, purchase ledger, costing and cash book functions. You will play a key role in maintaining smooth financial operations by ensuring all information, inputs and reports are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities as the Accounts Assistant

  • Assist with sales ledger tasks including processing invoices, credit notes, and receipts

  • Carry out credit control duties and complete credit checks

  • Support purchase ledger processes including invoice handling, credit notes, and payments

  • Reconcile monthly purchase ledger payments for Director approval

  • Assist with cash book entries for payments and receipts

  • Complete bank reconciliations

  • Perform costing tasks using Pegasus CIS

  • Process sales ledger invoices and applications for payment

  • Use finance systems including Sage 200, Sage 50, and Pegasus

Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role

  • Good IT skills and confident use of Microsoft Office
